Using mixed methods (search engine results analysis, thematic coding of user forum discussions, and platform affordance critique), we argue that this search term functions as a pragmatic workaround for users in restricted information environments. The paper contributes to queer media studies by foregrounding non-Western search behaviors and the role of vernacular keywords in shaping digital closets.
