The JC2 Map Viewer was originally written in C# by a developer known as DerPlaya78 using the BruTile library. Development on the original version halted in 2010, leaving some bugs unfixed. However, a community-maintained fork by has since revived the project. This updated version has been migrated to work with modern versions of Visual Studio and has fixed several of the long-standing issues.
