Anu, a fiery 28-year-old tamilogi , is a master of the thavil (traditional drum). Born to a family of koothu (folk theatre) artists, she grew up in the shadow of her grandmother, Amma, a revered olakkaran (storyteller). When an invasive corporate project threatens to divert the village’s water source to build a resort, Anu’s world trembles.
